Prayer Topic: Infertility and Miscarriage

It’s a frustrating and painful thing not to be able to conceive easily. It can be devastating to experience miscarriage or the loss of a newborn. People going through any of these are often confused, sad, and angry. They may wonder what is wrong with them and why God is letting this happen. It’s good to remember that your response should be sensitive, without offering cliché answers.

Possible Things to Pray for:

• God’s comfort to cover their heart and spirit
• Trust in His timing and guidance (specifically for those experiencing infertility)
• Healing of their bodies, that God would allow everything to function properly
• That God would bring people around them to support and care for them

Verses to Share: (All NIV Translations)

Psalms 147:3 - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalms 62:8 - Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

Romans 12:12 - Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

James 5:10-11 - Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”
